11 Mar Performing My Umrah
A month ago, my mom just randomly dropped a bomb on us and said that the whole family's going to Mecca to perform our umrah. Two weeks later, we flew off to Holy Mecca. As you can imagine, it was very overwhelming because there was so much to do and so much to pack. Everybody was given their own tasks and I decided to give myself one too - shopping for abaya and proper hijabs.
I hate the idea of having to go to different shops for different clothing. I was on a hunt to find THE perfect shop that has to have everything I need in one single roof.
After what seemed like forever, I discovered DIRS Gallery. It’s located inside of Semua House Complex, which is at Jalan Masjid India KL. Plus point because it’s in central KL! It’s so close to where I live. (P/s: I heard that they will open a new outlet at One Utama in April too!)
DIRS literally has everything from inners (anak tudung) of all kinds, hijab of so many different materials, and hijab pins too, sourced from all over the globe! And OMG their abaya (jubah) are to die for! They look so fancy and exclusive, with the beads and all that jazz. Not to mentioned the Swarovski-ed hijabs which add the blings to your outfit. Yet all these won’t burn your wallet as they are all priced very reasonably and affordable. What more could you ask for? I couldn’t take my eyes off them, so I decided to try it on and this is how it looked like.. I felt like an arab princess to be. Hey, a girl can dream right?
In the end, these are the few Hijabs that I chose to bring with me to Mecca. This is an instant shawl that I grab and go whenever I’m heading to the mosque. It covers up my chest areas and stays put all day. I love it so much!
I don’t know if you can tell but this is a ruffle type of shawl. It already has volume on attached to the fabric, so you don’t need to add on more. Super easy yet fashionable for Umrah. This is a basic white satin shawl, it instantly adds glamour to my whole look. (we went sight seeing so I dressed up abit more here)This is Amalina, one of the co-founders/ manager of DIRS Gallery. She’s overall such a lovely person to chat with, thanks so much for hooking me up with these goodies! This is the ever so famous DIRS Wall of Fame, as I like to call it. Make sure when you do stop by, take a picture at this wall!Overall, it was a great experience shopping at DIRS. I chose a lot of different type of hijabs just to experiment. I’m gonna end this blogpost with pictures from my trip to Mecca/Medina/Taif. Enjoy! 🙂 xAt KLIA, with all of my siblings. Guess who’s the eldest?Packed lots of chocolate just in case. One each.
